Overview
Investigation Approvals in CQ ensure that investigations are properly reviewed, verified, and authorized before the associated record can progress to closure. Whether the investigation is triggered by an Audit Finding, Nonconformance, Safety Incident, or CAPA, the approval process provides a consistent control point to confirm that the investigation was thorough, objective, and supported by adequate evidence.
Within each record type, Investigation Approvals help ensure that root cause analysis, evidence collection, and corrective or preventive recommendations meet organizational and regulatory expectations. Approvers validate that the investigation followed the required methodology, accurately reflects the facts, and supports the decisions made in the record.
This section explains how Investigation Approvals function within each module, who is typically responsible for completing the review, and how users can access and approve investigations directly from the corresponding CQ record. By completing these approvals, organizations strengthen their governance controls and maintain a reliable and compliant investigation process across all quality workflows.
