Summer 2026 Help

Deactivating Permits

Purpose

As a Permit Approver, you deactivate a Permit to end it before the Work End Date when work stops early or conditions change. This maintains control over permit validity in safety‑critical environments.

Prerequisites

  • Installation Packages: CQ Core - Summer 2026, CQ EHS Extension, CQ Forms

  • Product: SafetyQuest

  • Function: Permit

  • User Profile: Standard User

  • Permissions: CQ Base User PSG and CQ EHS Base User PSG and CQ Permit Approver PSG

Steps

  1. Open the Work Record, and select the appropriate Permit in the Permits section.

  2. Click the Deactivate button in the Next Best Actions section of the Permit record.

  3. Enter a Comment, if required.

  4. Click the Save button.

Expected Outcome

  • The Permit remains in the Approved Status and Approved Stage.

  • The Close and Time Extension buttons are available in the Next Best Actions section.

  • An email notification is sent to the Permit Approver.

  • The Permit Expired activity is displayed on the History tab.

  • In the Permit record, Details tab, Information section, the Permit Status becomes Expired.

  • If the linked Work Record is in Approved Stage, in the Work Record, Details tab, Work Record Team Members section, the Print Label option is available in the drop-down of each Team Member.
