Purpose

As a Record Owner, you update the defect or failure information to revise the issues identified during the nonconformance or complaint review. You adjust the recorded details and save the changes so the record reflects the most current findings.

Steps

  1. Update Defect/Failure if needed.

  • Defect/Failure, Failure Category, and Defect/Failure Severity fields will autopopulate with predefined values. If no known Failure Code is listed, leave field blank and proceed to next step.

  • If no Failure Code was selected above, enter the Defect/Failure ; otherwise, it is recommended not to modify the value here that populated from the Failure Code for best trending on NCs.

  • Optionally, if no Failure Code was selected above, enter the Defect/Failure Severity for the Defect/Failure entered above; otherwise, it is recommended not to modify the value here that populated from the Failure Code for best trending on NCs.

  • The Severity selected here will later provide a Suggested Investigation Level value under the Detail tab of the NC once the NC is Saved.

  • If no Failure Code was selected above, enter the Failure Category for the Defect/Failure entered above; otherwise, it is recommended not to modify the value here that populated from the Failure Code for best trending on NCs.

:warning:

Assignable Causes are not viewable in this window; however, can be seen from the Detail Tab of the NC when Editing the Defect/Failure as seen under Adding Assignable Causes above.

See your CQ Administrator to configure the Assignable Cause section under this window if needed for Completing Triage.
