Purpose
As a Record Owner, you update the policy information to revise details that apply to the nonconformance. You review the existing policy fields, make the required changes, and save the update so the record reflects the current policy requirements.

Steps

Containment Required? - check if Product must be contained. This option is checked off-the-shelf for Product Issue Types.

Containment Due Date - this date defaults to 7 days from the current date and can be modified by a CQ Admin.

Disposition Required? - check if Product must be disposed. This option is checked off-the-shelf for Product Issue Types.

Disposition Due Date - this date defaults to 7 days from the current date and can be modified by a CQ Admin.

Disposition Approval Required? - check if the Disposition performed must be approved. This option is not checked off-the-shelf.

Investigation Required? check if the NC will need to be Investigated. This option is checked off-the-shelf.

Suggested Investigation Level - options include:

NC Investigation - select if Investigation will be performed via the NC.

CAPA Investigation - select if Investigation will be performed via a CAPA.

Trend - defaults to the Severity of the Defect/Failure selected; or, if the Assess Risk activity took place in the NC, the Risk Assessment Conclusion. If pulling this from the Risk Assessment, it is recommended for best practice to leave this field as is (field may later be made read-only by CQ Admin if Assess Risk is being used).

Investigation Approval Required? - check if the Investigation performed must be approved. This option is not checked off-the-shelf.

Investigation Due Date - this date defaults to 30 days from the current date and can be modified by a CQ Admin.

Approval Matrix - select to be used for any of the approvals specified for Disposition and/or Investigation. See your CQ Administrator for help with defining Approval Matrices specifically tailored for your Nonconformances.
The Policy can also be managed by the NC Owner from the Workflow tab. The following Policy above pre-set off-the-shelf for NC and can be modified based on Customer’s intended use. See your CQ Administrator for more information on how to configure the NC Workflow Policy for NCs.

Enter Comment and Password if needed, and click the Save button.

Expected Outcome

The NC record is Completed for Triage and moves to the Disposition/Investigate Stage and Open Status.

Once the NC record moves to the Disposition/Investigate Stage and Open status, users will no longer be able to update the Investigation Policy until the record is closed.

The Completing Triage action is logged in the Nonconformance Record Activities section under the History tab.

The Next Best Actions section is now populated with Containment, Disposition, and Investigation activities (as needed).
