Importing BOMs

Purpose

As a Part Creator, you can import a BOM into a Part record to add multiple assembly line items in bulk. This task reduces manual entry.

Prerequisites

Installation Package: CQ Core, CQ PLM Extension

User Profile: Standard User

Product: ProductQuest

Function: Parts

Permissions: CQ Base User PSG, CQ PLM Creator PSG, CQ Design Owner PSG

Steps

1. Open the Part record.

2. Click Import in the BOM View section(Note: download the template BOM Import Template.csv).

3. Specify this information:

   • Level
     Specify the level.

   • Child Part Number
     Specify the child part number.

   • Qty
     Specify the quantity.

   • Find Number
     Specify the find number.

   • Reference Designator
     Specify the reference designator.

   • BOM Notes
     Provide notes.

4. Drop/Upload a csv file using the BOM Import Template. Then click Next.

5. Click the Import button.

6. Click Close.

Expected Outcome

• The BOM is imported.

Troubleshooting
