Purpose
As a Record Owner, you close a Nonconformance (NC) after confirming that all investigation, disposition, and action activities are complete. You verify the recorded information and update the status so the NC exits the workflow.

Installation Package: CQ Core, myCQ Extension, CQ Supplier Central, CQ Supplier Performance, CQ Ratings Framework, CQ Embedded Analytics, and CQ AI Extension
Product: QualityQuest and Platform Apps
Function: CQ NC Closure
User Profile: Standard User
For Permission Set Groups: CQ Base User PSG, CQ NC Owner PSG
Steps
CQ Qualified User can be enabled by CQ Administrators in order to ensure that only Qualified Users can Close the Nonconformance. See your CQ Administrator for how to set Qualified Users for NC Closure.

From the Home tab select the View link for the Nonconformance to Close.

From Next Best Actions, click the Close button.

Select the Resolution: Effective or Ineffective.

Optionally, select if a Related CAPA will be linked to the NC.

Optionally, if a new CAPA needs to be created off the NC, select Initiate CAPA.

Enter Comment and Password if needed, and click the Save button.
Once the NC record is Closed, all manually created Tasks will remain unchanged and can still be completed.

Expected Outcome

The NC moves to the Closed Status and Closed Stage.

Close Date, Resolution, and Comments are displayed in the Closure section under the Details tab.

The Closing NC activity is logged in the Nonconformance Record Activities section under the History tab.

If a CAPA was created or referenced, it will be listed under the Reference tab in the NC record.

If Initiate CAPA was checked, a CAPA record is automatically created in Draft Status. The NC record is referenced under the CAPA Details tab in the External Reference Number field.
