Adding Design Verifications to Design Files

Overview

Design Verification is a critical phase in the product development lifecycle, ensuring that the design outputs meet the specified design inputs. This process provides objective evidence factual, unbiased data that can be observed and measured to confirm that the product design aligns with requirements and intended use. The Design Verification section documents all activities, tests, and analyses performed to verify that the design outputs satisfy the design inputs. Each Design Verification record should include a clear title, description, status, and any supporting files or controlled documents. Verification activities may include inspections, tests, simulations, or reviews, and should be traceable to specific design inputs. The status of each verification (e.g., Draft, Completed) should be tracked, and updates can be made as needed throughout the development process. Linking verification records to relevant controlled documents and maintaining version history ensures comprehensive traceability and compliance.
