Creating Part Revisions

Purpose

As a Part Creator, you can create a new Part Revision to record updates without replacing the original part. This action keeps revision history clear and ensures users work with the correct version in design, manufacturing, and quality activities.

Prerequisites

Installation Package: CQ Core, CQ PLM Extension

Product: ProductQuest

Function: Parts

User Profile: Standard User

Permissions: CQ Base User PSG and CQ PLM Creator PSG

Record: Part record must exist


Steps

  1. Open the Part record.

  2. Click New Revision in the Action Menu.

  3. Provide a Comment and specify the Password.

  4. Click Save.

Expected Outcome

  • The Part Revision is created.

  • The Part Revision can be edited and deleted.

  • The Part Revision is listed in the Part Revisions section on the Changes tab.

  • The Part Revision activity appears in the Part History section on the History tab.
