Steps

1. Open the NC Investigation in Draft or Open status.

2. Confirm you have edit permission.

3. Review the What field to ensure it describes the defect or failure.

4. Request Immediate Cause Suggestions from the investigation.

5. Review the list of suggested defect failures and source references.

6. Compare failure modes, effects, and ranked causes.

7. Select a relevant suggestion to log as a defect.

8. Save the defect record with the auto‑populated details.
