Sharing Files Using Public Links

Purpose

As a User, you can share files using a public link with controlled access. This task lets you set an expiration date and password, copy the link for sharing, or delete it to revoke access.

Prerequisites

Installed Package(s): CQ Core, CQ QMI - Summer 2026

Product: Platform & Technology

Function: Public Link

User Profile: Standard User

Permissions: CQ Base User PSG and CQ QMI Manager PSG

Steps

• In the Files section, select View All to open the preview.

• In the Report Preview Window, select Public Link.

• If needed, enable Expiration Date and select a date.

• If needed, enable Password and enter a password.

• Select Create Link.

• Select Create to generate the link.

• Select Copy Link to copy the URL.

• To revoke access, select the Delete (trash) icon.

• Select X to close the dialog.

Expected Outcome

• Selecting View All opens the file in Preview.

• The Public Link dialog opens and displays link options.

• The user can set:

  • Expiration Date (optional)

  • Password (optional)

• Selecting Create Link generates a valid public URL.

• The link displays and supports Copy Link.

• External users can view or download the file until the link expires or is deleted.

• Selecting Delete removes public access immediately.

• Selecting X closes the dialog.
