Promoting Concept Parts to Standard Parts

Purpose

As a Part Creator, you can promote Concept Parts to Standard Parts once the proof‑of‑concept is approved.

Prerequisites

Installation Package: CQ Core, CQ PLM Extension

Product: ProductQuest

Function: Standard Parts

User Profile: Standard User

Permissions: CQ Base User PSG and CQ PLM Creator PSG

Record: Concept Part

Steps

1. Open the Part record.

2. Click Promote to Standard Part.

3. Specify this information:

   • Part Number
     Specify the part number for Standard Part or leave as AUTO if autonumbering is enabled.

   • Comment
     Provide a comment, if applicable.

   • Password
     Specify the password, if applicable.

4. Click Save.

Expected Outcome

• The Standard Part is created and assigned a unique number.

• The Record Type changes from Concept Part to Standard Part.

• The Standard Part is added to the CQPLM Ownership Queue.

• The Lifecycle Name changes from Concept to Prototype and the Lifecycle Type is set to Pre-Production.

• A Primary Controlled Document is created.
