Completing Approval for Permits

Purpose

As a Permit Approver, you review the completed Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) and decide whether the permit should be approved or rejected.

Prerequisites

• Installation Packages: CQ Core - Summer 2026, CQ EHS Extension, CQ Forms

• Product: SafetyQuest

• Function: Permits

• User Profile: Standard User

• Permissions: CQ Base User PSG and CQ EHS Base User PSG and CQ Permit Approver PSG

• Permit: Must be submitted from Permit and it should be in the In Review Stage

Steps

1. Go to the Home tab, select the Approve/Reject link for the Permit Record to review for Approval.

The Permit Approver can also access the Permit record from the email notification.

4. Click Approve or Reject in the Next Best Actions section.

5. Provide Comment and Password, if required.

6. Click Approve or Reject to submit your decision.

Expected Outcome

• The approval decision is recorded.

• An email notification is sent to the Permit Requestor.

• If approved, the Permit moves to the Approved stage.

• If rejected, the Permit record moves to Draft Stage.

• Approval signatures are available in Record Activities on the History tab.
